We specialize in all of Florida's wildlife and rodents. Our goal is to provide a permanent solution to your problem. If you have critters living in your attic, we don't just trap them and call it a job. We solve the root of the problem, by identifying all of the open entry points leading into your house. We seal these shut permanently - we pride ourselves on our repair work, and we offer a full guarantee. The job is not complete, and is often pointless, if the openings are not sealed shut. After we've completely critter-proofed the house and removed all of the invasive wildlife and/or rodents, we clean up the mess that they've left behind. Our attic decontamination and deodorizing services are very thorough, and an important part of a complete wildlife solution. We offer services in the above mentioned cities of Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and we now have Boca Raton Animal Control, Fort Lauderdale Animal Control, and Jacksonville Pest Animal Control branches as well. Florida Wildlife Removal tip of the month: How To Trap a Armadillo

You are tired of shallow holes? You have found uprooted plants and flowers in your garden? It's time to take control over it. Keeping pesky armadillos from your yard often requires effort and a combination of methods. If you notice that there is an armadillo activity on your place, take control to remove them before they cause any serious damage. Removing armadillos is more efficient when several methods are used in one and the same time. You need help with the trapping armadillos? How to bait the trap? How to repel Florida armadillos and trap them? Here you will find some good solutions and advices in removing the armadillos.

Pick up a trap
There are two types of traps – 1 or 2 door types:
• One-door – its usage is easy for big armadillos, which can fully get into the trap. The one-door trap is the favorite of the professionals and it has really simple design.
• Two-door – this one can be used with one or two entrances. This trap have higher catch rate.

The armadillo can be one of the most annoying animals in your property because of their strong sense to dig. Armadillos are known for excavators and will eat even backyards in search of insects and larvae by digging small holes around the gardens, flower beds and lawn. They have their babies, usually only once a year and give birth to identical quadruplets every time! The best way to remove Florida armadillos is to capture and move them when is possible. The most common indicator that you may have an armadillo in your property is if you find holes or burrows all around your property. The armadillo will dig several holes in one community or one property and not live in the same. They use all the holes in their area as a defense mechanism against predators or other dangers. In spite that an armadillo seem harmless enough, their holes can become a huge threat to houses, air conditioners, pool equipment and gardens. The armadillos and their digging can cause many problems that can be nerve racking for every Florida homeowner. When an armadillo digging its hole, whatever is in its path will be destroyed or broken, including water lines for irrigation, cable or low voltage outdoor lighting conductors. These are the best trap locations:
• a well-traveled path
• alongside of a wall or a fence
• on top of the entrance hole
When installing the Florida armadillo trap you should follow the instructions, because depending on the trap, the installation can be different. Set the trap just before armadillos come out to feed. In the winter they can often come out during the day, despite that they are mainly nocturnal. You should check up and monitor your trap often, because some armadillos can dig under the trap and try to escape.

What bait to choose?
The armadillo is a nocturnal. The armadillo is buried in small holes near ant holes in dry soil and feeds mainly on ants and their larvae near its home. From time to time, the armadillos consume snails, worms, larvae and insects, or various roots and plants. So, the main factor, when choosing the bait is to put bait that will attract the Florida armadillo.
• Very preferable bait are maggots, earth worms, overripe fruit
• The distance from the opened trap door and the bait should be enough for the armadillo to get in the trap with its whole body.
• When the armadillo takes the bait the trigger will be engaged and the animal will be kept.

What happens when you trap the armadillo?
You should wear thick gloves when operating a trap. Also you should try to hold the trap away from your body to avoid contact with the armadillo. If in your area, the laws and the local regulations for wildlife permit allow, you can move your armadillo in more natural environment - preferably near a stream or river, at least five miles from your property. When releasing the armadillo you should stay away from the trap door, allowing the animal safely to leave the trap.Make sure that the hole of the armadillo is empty and fill it with gravel to prevent other Florida animals like him to settle there. Capturing armadillos takes some knowledge of their natural behavior, a lot of patience and luck. There is no actual evident for how armadillos move as they look for food. In addition, there is nothing to ensure you that you will trap them successfully. With little or no knowledge of armadillo trap setting and their behavior and successful tapping can sometimes be only a matter of luck.
